ACS Cancels Winter Concerts

Alliance City Schools has cancelled all winter concerts for this year due to the difficulty in ensuring all students are prepared to perform.

With a number of students either learning digitally or quarantined from close contact, the students have not had the necessary rehearsal time to prepare for the winter concerts. There is also no guarantee which students will be able to attend the day of the concerts.

“Due to the unpredictable nature of the progression of COVID and quarantines, and despite our music faculty doing everything they could, it was just not feasible to continue with our traditional winter programs. We will evaluate all possibilities for spring concerts and do everything we can to give students the opportunity to perform.”

A few of the music groups have decided to release virtual performances in order to showcase the choir, band and orchestra. The performances will be released on the Alliance City Schools social media accounts around the same time the performances were set to take place.

Cancelled Concerts include:

  • AIS Winter Concert - Dec. 2

  • AMS Winter Arts Night - Dec. 8

  • AES Winter Concert - Dec. 9

  • AHS Winter Choir & Orchestra Concert - Dec. 14

  • AHS Winter Band Concert - Dec. 17

While the performances are cancelled, the ACS music department hasn’t stopped performing. Videos and clips of the music can be found on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook by searching for #AviatorMusicStrong.
