BOE Celebrates District Achievements

On Tuesday, Dec. 18, the Alliance Board of Education (BOE) recognized all Alliance City School buildings for recent achievements and accolades.

In the past couple of weeks, ACS has been recognized with a district award and five individual school awards. The first to be recognized was the Ohio Leadership Advisory Council (OLAC) District of the Year Award, which was presented to ACS at the annual OLAC conference on Dec. 10.

\r\n

“This award is given to a district who exceeds in their work with the Ohio Improvement Process,” said Chris Gibowicz, director of curriculum for ACS. “It was earned from each and every employee and their hard work in their DLTs, BLTs and TBTs in terms of increasing student achievement and progress.”

\r\n

The BOE presented each school in the district with a plaque recognizing their hard work and dedication to the Ohio Improvement Process allowing the district to receive this prestigious accolade.

\r\n

Following the presentation of the OLAC plaques, the BOE recognized the schools for their individual awards. 

\r\n

Alliance High School recently received the state’s Momentum Award for showing high achievement.

Alliance Early Learning School was recognized for the second year in a row for receiving all A’s on their state report card.

\r\n

\r\n

Alliance Intermediate School received the PBIS Silver Award for their hard work incorporating PBIS in their building.

\r\n

\r\n

Alliance Middle School received the PBIS Silver Award this year. This is the second year they have been recognized with a PBIS award with AMS having received the PBIS Bronze Award last year.

For the second year in a row, Rockhill Elementary was named a High Progress School of Honor by the Ohio Board of Education. They are one of only 72 schools in Ohio to receive this honor.

\r\n

“I am proud of all the time and effort our staff has put in to achieve these accolades,” Superintendent Jeff Talbert said. “We are a great school district who values hard work, dedication and supporting the students in every way possible. It’s great to see our schools receiving such prestigious awards and being recognized at the state level for providing a positive learning environment and working to prepare the Alliance students for life, college and careers.”
