Pathfinders honored at Black History assembly

Three of our Pathfinders were honored February 16 at the High School Black History Month Assembly. Attorney Merrick Malone in the area of Education, Pastor Aaron Hill in the area of Education and Dr. Michael Grimes in the area of Science. Each gave a speech and some words of advice to students as graduates of Alliance High School. The Harambee dance group out of Youngstown also performed. The Harambee dance group is known as a high-energy performing arts group. Harambee, a true American celebration, showcases how the African culture transcends from yesterday into today.

Black History month has been observed with three different programs honoring 8 of our Pathfinders this year, Pastors Bobby and Joyce Williams in the area of Humanitarians, Mr. Kenya Harrington in the area of Education, Dr. Michael Grimes in the area of Science, Attorney Merrick Malone in the area of Education, Pastor Aaron Hill in the area of Education, and Councilwoman Cindy King in the area of Citizenship.Government and Jack Peters in the area of Business/Humanitarian.
The awards are given during Black History Month to individuals who have created paths of success for our students- thus the name Pathfinder.
Our hope is that students find inspiration in those honored this month, so that they, too, can become Pathfinders.
