AHS Receives Momentum Award

Congratulations to Alliance High School for receiving the Ohio State Board of Education’s Momentum Award for 2019.

\r\n

The Momentum Award recognizes schools that exceed expectations in student growth. In order for a school to be recognized, it must earn straight As on all Value-Added measures on the state report card.

\r\n

The Value-Added measurements compare current students scores with the scores of the previous year and to scores of students in the same grade. In the overall progress component, AHS earned an A based on receiving As for several other subgroups of students, including: gifted students, students in the lowest 20 percent in achievement and students with disabilities.

\r\n

AHS was one of only three buildings and the only high school in Stark County to receive the Momentum Award this year, and one of only 36 high schools in the state.
